TYNEDALE II bounced back to winning ways with a convincing five wicket victory over Swalwell II in Division Six.

A 50-run partnership between Ben Griffiths (34) and Nathan Byerley (41) guided them to the 29-point triumph, with Byerley going on to move his side close to the 100 mark.

They were chasing 124 which was set by Swalwell. The score would have been higher but for some good bowling, particularly from Archie Fletcher (2-10).

James Percival (1-11), Dan Toward (1-12), Ben Cuthbertson (1-25) and Adam Newton (1-3) also took wickets.

They climbed above rivals Allendale, whom they lost to the previous week, as they fell a disappointingly 98 runs short of the total set by Clara Vale.

With thanks to two half centuries, Clara made 180 despite Mohammed Zeeshan Tahir (5-33) taking five wickets and Geoff Sparke (3-27) two.

Allendale could only make a collective 82 runs with John Welch (17), Dan Mills (13) and Liam Pringle (15) the only ones making it out of single figures.

Bottom of the table Stocksfield II were beaten by 40 runs by table topping Kirkley, who made 181. Ben Brown (2-35) and Ben Ridley (3-43) were among the wickets for Stocksfield.

Matthew Page (49) and Matthew Tobin (29no) impressed with the bat but it was not to be for Stocksfield.

In Division Seven, Stocksfield III lost to Consett II.

Consett were restricted to 145-8 with Sam Brown (2-25), Luke Masters (2-25) and Simon Wraith (2-15) claiming two wickets each.

But Stocksfield were only able to make 82 runs in reply despite a good knock of 30 from Max Russell.

Wraith also stuck around to contribute 14 runs.

Corbridge II were 100 runs shy of the total set by Littletown as their struggles towards the foot of the table continued.

Littletown finished on 237-7 with the wickets shared around the team.

Corbridge passed the 100 mark but were all out on 137, Mattie Thompson making the biggest impact with 39 from 43 deliveries.
