Today's game will kick off at 10.30am, at Low Hall Park in Haydon Bridge.
A FUND-RAISING page has now been set up ahead of a charity football match in memory of Stu Sim.
The Tyne Valley community of Haydon Bridge was rocked by the death of the popular 26-year-old in July.
It is understood he took his own life, and his family responded by launching an online campaign to raise awareness of mental health.
Now Stu’s brother Phil has announced details of the Stu Sim Memorial Match, which will take place at Haydon Bridge’s Low Hall Park ground, at 10.30am on Sunday morning, in aid of the mental health charity MIND.
Phil, who works as a teaching assistant at Shaftoe Trust Academy, is also the manager of the Haydon Bridge Social Club FC, which is preparing to begin the new season in Division One of the Hexham & District Sunday League.
The match will see Phil’s side take on a Stu XI, featuring a host of players who Stu played alongside during his days as a junior player at Haydon Bridge United.
Phil said: “It will be a great occasion where we will hopefully raise a good amount of money for the MIND charity.”
