RESIDENTS of a Tyne Valley town have raised concerns over poor parking in the area.

Coun. Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, said residents had been complaining about vehicles blocking Eastwoods Road in the town.

Coun. Stewart said: "Several reports have been recently received about vehicles being parked along this road, including one occasion when a bus was unable to pass'

"Eastwoods Park is now very popular after major investment over the last three years and the easing of the lockdown measures.

"I have asked Northumberland County Council to look into this issue and come up with a solution which may be double yellow lines on the east side of the road.

"My primary concern is road safety which is paramount, there are ample free car parking spaces available in the car park which has recently been extended."
