NORTHUMBERLAND has seen a rise in confirmed coronavirus for the first time in three days.
The latest figures from Public Health England showed that two new lab-confirmed cases of the virus were confirmed in the county on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases to 1,597.
However, NHS England's latest data showed the number of deaths at Northumbria Healthcare hospitals remained at 202 - a figure which has not increased since July 3.
The number of deaths recorded in Northumberland as a county remained at 240.
Nationally, a further 55 deaths of patients who had tested positive for coronavirus were recorded, bringing the total death toll to 46,566.
Furthermore, 758 new cases of the virus were confirmed by PHE, bringing the total number of cases to 309,763. 181,864 tests were carried out on Saturday.
1,067 people are currently being treated for coronavirus in hospital, with 67 patients in ventilator beds.
