OFFICERS investigating a report of dangerous driving are appealing to the public for information.

Just before 3pm on Sunday, July 26, officers stopped a vehicle that had allegedly been driving dangerously on the Military Road between the A68 roundabout and East Wallhouses.

It had been reported that the vehicle, a silver Seat Ibiza, had been dangerously overtaking cars at high speeds.

Now, investigating officers are appealing to the public and any witnesses to come forward as they may be able to help with inquiries.

Officers believe a number of vehicles were in the area and may be able to offer some information or dashcam footage.

Any witnesses, or those who can help, are urged to contact police via 101 or the online reporting form available on the Northumbria Police website.

Alternatively, you can report via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
