A MAN has denied being almost three times over the legal drink drive limit while behind the wheel.
Stephen John Brown (53), of Errington Place, Prudhoe, denied the charge when he appeared at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
It is alleged that Brown was driving on Clyde Street, in Chopwell, on September 30 when he had 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml in breath.
The legal drink drive limit is 35 microgrammes.
Brown will stand trial at Gateshead Magistrates’ Court on September 22. He was remanded on unconditional bail.
