A HEXHAM woman accused of assaulting a police officer is in custody after failing to turn up in court.
Amanda Longstaff (36) of Saint Johns Road, faced one charge of assault by beating of an emergency worker and one charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause alarm, harassment, or distress.
She was due to appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates Court on Monday, July 27, but failed to do so.
A warrant was issued for her arrest, and Northumbria Police have confirmed she is now in custody.
