ACTOR Robson Green beamed with pride as he held up an 11lb sea trout caught in the River North Tyne.
Taken to the water with his partner Zoila and celebrity angler, and Tynedale neighbour, James Stokoe, Green showed off the specimen fly caught sea trout. Anglers often chase the double figure lb fish so it was a big moment for the keen fisherman.
James, a former pupil at Hexham's Queen Elizabeth High School who became well known in UK angling circles following his success in 2015 in the BBC show Earth's Wildest Waters: The Big Fish with celebrity adventurer Ben Fogle, said: "For me, it was a pleasure to be part of this incredible achievement, putting Robson on the fish and netting it for him."
To make the achievement sweeter, it was a spur of the moment decision to go on the water and it was the first time the friends had fished together since lockdown.
