A ONE-STOP shop for partyware has recently opened in a Tyne Valley town.

The Event Place, on West Wylam Drive, in Prudhoe, opened its doors recently, having had its grand opening pushed back due to the coronavirus-imposed lockdown.

Owner Emma Armstrong, who previously worked in a travel agents in the town, started the business after years of planning parties and events for her own family.

She said: “I started The Event Place as a hobby that progressed into a business. I love planning and decorating events and parties, which started with my children’s birthday parties and christenings.

“Originally we were meant to open the week that lockdown was announced, but this has given us the opportunity to research suppliers and source the best quality products.”

The shop stocks decorations for all occasions, including balloons, greetings cards and personalised partyware.

An event planning and set up service is also offered, with customers able to hire items for use.

Emma added: “Having this sort of shop locally means people don’t need to travel to get all they need for their celebrations.

“Our aim is to enjoy what we are doing and to be able to produce unique, personalised party supplies and event hire items.

“Our future plans are to build the business by adding further to our partyware selection, hire items and good quality greetings cards.”
