A TYNE Valley community has been rocked by the death of a popular 26-year-old man.

Social media has been awash with tributes for Stuart Sim, of Haydon Bridge, who died at the weekend.

Northumbria Police said concerns were raised for the welfare of Mr Sim, at shortly before 3am on Saturday, before his body was found in the Langley area, to the south of Haydon Bridge.

A police spokeswoman said: “An investigation was launched to trace the missing 26-year-old, but sadly a body was found several hours later.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and there is not believed to be any third party involvement. A report into the incident has been prepared and passed on to the coroner.”

Known as Stu to his family and many friends, he was a popular figure in the village.

A full tribute will follow in this week’s Hexham Courant.
