A RURAL running club is keen to help people maintain their interest in their newly discovered hobby.
During lockdown, there has been a surge in the number of people out pounding the streets, and Allen Valley Striders Running Club are keen to help new or returning runners reach their goals, whether they are social, physical or mental.
The Catton-based club has restarted socially distanced runs and already welcomed new members to its ranks. With runners ranging in age from 18 to mid 70’, a fairly even split of sexes and abilities from very competitive to purely social/health runners, the club caters for all abilities.
People are invited to turn up to the meeting point at Allendale Sports Club car park on Monday or Wednesday nights just before 7pm, and all groups, adopting social distancing, are divided to ensure nobody gets left behind in the pack.
The club can be contacted prior to a session by people visiting its Facebook page.
