SELF employed workers in the district can still apply for a government grant to support them through the coronavirus pandemic.
The deadline for the first phase of the Self Employment Income Support Scheme, which enabled applicants to claim up to £7,500, ended at midnight on Monday.
But the scheme has been extended. People who were eligible for the first grant, and can confirm that their business has been adversely affacted from Tuesday, July 14, can claim for a grant from Monday, August, 17.
The initiative is open to individuals who are self employed, or are a member of a partnership.
