A FUNDRAISING event today will raise money for two causes close to the hearts of local people.
A socially-distanced ‘toddle’ will be held in Bitts Park today from 10.30am to raise money for Eden Valley Hospice and Save Our Stan.
It is being hosted by Leona Hull who has done a lot of fundraising work for the hospice - she recently donated £1,000 which had been raised through fundraising.
A fundraising toddle is a short walk for children to take part in that gets them thinking and supporting important causes.
Leona decided to split the money with the Save Our Stan appeal which has captured the hearts of people across Cumbria - and further afield.
The family of Stanley, a little boy with leukaemia, is raising £500,000 to fund lifesaving surgery for him in Singapore.
So far, more than £327,000 has been raised with fundraising events taking place nearly everyday.
