Playgrounds were able to reopen in England from July 4 amid a raft of changes of lockdown restrictions that included the reopening of museums, galleries, and cinemas, plus relief of the hospitality sector, with pubs, restaurants and hotels allowed to start trading again.
Allerdale Council is delighted to have reopened its play areas in line with the easing of restrictions and welcome everyone back to enjoy them.
The play areas under its management are:
Ennerdale Road, Maryport
Camp Road, Maryport
Lowther Street, Maryport
Hunter’s Drive, Seaton
Bellbrigg Lonning, Cockermouth
Harris Park, Cockermouth
Horse Close Skate Park, Workington Hall Park
The council has asked that everyone adhere to the relevant guidance when using these facilities, particularly when following 1m plus social distancing and hand washing rules.
New signage has also been placed in the play areas to remind people about the guidelines and enforce the rules.
The council is focusing on keeping these sites as safe and clean as possible and appreciate co-operation from those that use the areas.
