NO coronavirus deaths were recorded at Northumbria Healthcare hospitals yesterday for the fourth day in a row.
According to the latest figures from NHS England, the death toll at the trust's hospitals remains at 202.
However, two new cases of the virus were confirmed in Northumberland, according to Public Health England. PHE now includes positive tests carried out in all areas, as opposed to just those in hospitals.
Nationally, there have now been 286,349 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 581 on Tuesday.
16 deaths were recorded on Monday - one of the lowest daily death tolls since mid-March. However, the daily death tolls have been consistently lower on Sundays and Mondays due to a lag in weekend reporting.
However, on Tuesday 155 new deaths were recorded.
44,391 people have now died after having a positive test result for the virus.
