NO new deaths from coronavirus were recorded at Northumbria Hospitals for the third day in a row.

According to the latest figures from NHS England, the death toll at the trust's hospitals remains at 202.

However, according to Public Health England (PHE), one new case of the virus was confirmed in Northumberland, bringing the total number of cases to 1,569.

PHE has now started counting tests in all settings at a regional and local authority level, whereas the tally previously only included tests carried out in hospitals.

Nationally, there have now been 285, 416 lab-confirmed cases of Covid-19, an increase of 516 on the previous day.

A total of 22 people died from the virus on Sunday, bringing the total death toll of people who have tested positive for the virus to 44,220.

A total of 97,315 tests were processed on Sunday.
