A NEWLY created home care company for the Tyne Valley has reached an important milestone.

Home Instead opened a new base in Hexham to provide care to Tynedale people in their own homes just before lockdown was imposed, and has successfully registered with the care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), to ensure it can continue to provide services to elderly people across the district.

The company’s successful completion of the CQC vetting process means it is now fully registered to provide companionship care, personal care

Heather Hughes, owner of Home Instead Tyne Valley, said: “It is particularly important in these challenging times that older people’s needs are considered.

“We are here to help in whatever way we can with a range of services that can be adapted to meet a person’s individual needs.

“So, whether you are looking to help someone to maintain their independence, need additional care for a loved one who is making the transition from hospital to home or support for a family member who is having to self-isolate, Home Instead can offer that support.”

Home Instead Senior Care Tyne Valley cares for clients throughout Tynedale, including Hexham, Acomb, Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield, Prudhoe, parts of Newcastle, Whickham and the surrounding towns and villages.

Gill Wright, its care manager, said: “Since starting with Home Instead earlier this year, I have loved every minute.

“Navigating through Covid-19 challenges has been difficult at times, but the support provided by the team has been outstanding.

“Delivering care to our clients in their own homes is so rewarding and especially I love hearing stories about their families and their past.

“If anyone is thinking about a career in care, I would urge you to give it a go.”
