A COUNTY councillor has issued a warning after doorstep traders selling fish were reported in the Tynedale area.
Coun. Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, asked the public to report any incidents to the county council.
Coun. Stewart said: "Beware of bogus fish sellers who have been visiting Tynedale
"They often use intimidation to force customers to buy large amounts of fish they do not want.
"The fish is usually of poor quality, often miss sold and lacks the required labelling. If you are in any doubt - say no.
"Anyone with information should email Trading Standards at public.protection@northumberland.gov.uk"
