A GROUP of North-East artists have come together to raise money for NHS Charities Together.

The artists, including Tyne Valley-based Enrique Azocar, Mary-Ann Rogers and Florrie McNamara, will take their work online throughout July and August.

Fifty per cent of all sales from the exhibition, named the Northern Lights and sponsored by Hexham’s The Wall North Contemporary Gallery, will be donated to NHS Charities Together.

The activity was organised by Enrique, Florrie, and Rachel Sharp as a creative response to the difficult and unusual times presented by the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.

Original drawings and paintings from the diverse group of highly accomplished North-East based artists will be showcased at www.wallnorthgallery.com from July 1 to August 31.

Visitors to the site can send an email about work they are interested in which will be forwarded to the artist. Each artist will exhibit two to four works.

The funds generated will help to support the health and emotional wellbeing of those at the frontline of the NHS, so they can deliver the best care possible to coronavirus patients. Donations will cover above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, such as wellbeing packs, accommodation, travel, parking and volunteer expenses
