A TYNE Valley woman has thanked the community for its support after it helped her to raise more than £1,000 for charity.
Linda Lee, who lives in Riding Mill, took on the 100 miles in May challenge along with her dog, Barney the six-year-old Golden Doodle.
Linda was raising money and awareness of Melanoma Focus and Skin - two charities dedicated to the early detection and prevention of skin cancer.
She said: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed at what I’ve raised, it’s amazing.
“I find walking very therapeutic any way, and in these difficult times it was nice to have something else to focus on.
“There’s a lot of people raising money at the moment, it’s a good outlet.
“The charities are very close to my heart, having been diagnosed myself. It’s an incredible cause.”
