THUNDERSTORMS are set to batter parts of the district on Monday afternoon, with a yellow weather warning from the Met Office in place.
The warning covers south-west Northumberland and across the border into Cumbria, including the Allen Valleys as well as Alston.
The warning is in place from 1pm until 9pm on Monday (June 15). The Met Office said some flooding is likely, while there would probably be some damage to buildings from lightning.
Travel is also set to be affected due to heavy rain.
