A LIMITED edition souvenir celebrating the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Otterburn has been uncovered.
The then Newcastle Brown Ale brewer Newcastle Breweries produced a series of special bottles of the Tyneside beer to commemorate the historic event in 1988.
Jeff Milburn, from Wooler, said he discovered the bottle while clearing out his garage earlier this month.
"I remember exactly when I got it and when they were marking the 600th anniversary of the end of the battle," he said.
"Newcastle Breweries were doing press events in Northumberland and the special edition label was one thing they did to mark the occasion.
"The launch of the beer was at The Blackbird pub in Ponteland. I produced a local history-style film for BBC Look North that was about the battle and we visited the area."
Former Newcastle Breweries chairman Gavin Reed, from West Woodburn, started working for the company in 1958 and spent 36 years working at one of the world's most recognisable breweries.
