A KEY learning programme designed for young people has received a funding boost.
Hexham Rotary Club handed over a £1,000 cheque to Hexham Youth Initiative on behalf of the Links Housing and Advice for Young People charity.
The long-established youth organisation is based at the town’s community centre, on Gilesgate, and provides activities, opportunities, and services for young people in the area.
Its project co-ordinator, Keda Norman, said: “We will use the generous funding to support our alternative education project. It will provide resources, help fund educational visits and additional teaching assistant support.”
The rotary club has itself donated £10,000 to local causes during the coronavirus pandemic.
