A MAN was arrested by Northumbria Police on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

The force revealed that a 36-year-old Hexham resident was arrested on Friday, May 29, and had since been released under investigation.

The arrest was part of a Northumbria Police drug crackdown which saw six arrests in Hexham and Ashington.

Two days earlier, officers imade arrests in Ashington.

Four men, aged 24, 29, 32 and 64, and one woman, aged 53, were arrested on suspicion of drug offences, with three of those being released under investigation and two men, 29 and 32, being released with no further action.
