FIRE crews are tackling a blaze two miles north of Haydon Bridge.
A huge plume of smoke could be seen from miles around the location, near to the hamlets of Settlingstones and Grindon.
Several fire service vehicles were seen travelling to the scene late on Sunday afternoon.
Images and videos of the scene, from a distance, quickly began appearing on social media.
The Courant is awaiting further information from the fire service.
