NORTHUMBERLAND Fire and Rescue team have stepped in to support a local bowling club after its sprinkler system failed.
An issue with the sprinklers at Prudhoe Castle Bowling club meant the green was dried out and in desperate need of watering.
Following a request from county councillor Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, fire crews were happy to help.
Coun. Stewart said: "I received a call from a club official who was concerned that the grass would not survive in these hot conditions for another few days.
"Many of their members have been locked down for weeks and need to get back to their favourite pastime.
"I put a request into the Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service who were delighted to give up their free time on a Friday evening to assist."
