A CROWD-FUNDER has been set up to support a local family after their house was destroyed by fire.

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service tackled the blaze at a house in Market Place, Allendale yesterday.

Fire crews used breathing apparatus, jets and ladders, and late into afternoon were still working to prevent further damage to the neighbouring property.

Electrical cables were affected and this resulted in the power supply in Allendale having to be isolated.

Nobody was injured in the blaze, but the house was badly damaged and the fire spread to a neighbouring property.

As of Sunday morning, fire crews had left the scene. However, specialist investigation teams have been at both sites, looking to determine the cause of the fire.

Local resident Matty Robson has now set up a crowd-funding page to raise money for the family. The page aims to raise £1,000.

Donations can be made at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/matty-robson.
