FIRE crews are on the scene of a significant house fire in Allendale.
At around 2.45pm today, crews from Allendale, Hexham, and Haltwhistle were called to a blaze at a property in Allendale.
The fire reportedly caused substantial damage and spread to a neighbouring house.
As of 6pm, fire crews had used breathing apparatus, jets and ladders and were working to prevent further damage to the neighbouring property.
The fire damaged electrical cables and has resulted in a power cut to the village.
Nobody was injured in the fire, but a specialist investigation team is looking into the cause of the fire.
The fire and rescue team is urging all residents to be fire aware, have working fire alarms, have an escape plan and stay safe.
