ANOTHER 10 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the North-East and North Yorkshire.
Figures published on Wednesday afternoon revealed a total of 1,592 Covid-19 patients had now died in the region.
Nationally, a further 183 people have died after testing positive for the virus in hospitals across England.
A spokesperson for NHS England said: "A further 183 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,049.
"Patients were aged between 43 and 101 years old. Two of the 183 patients (aged 81 and 91) had no known underlying health condition. Their families have been informed."
The total number of patient deaths recorded by each trust as of 5pm on Tuesday, May 26 are:

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – 186 no change
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust – 114 no change
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 226 was 223
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust - 318 was 317
Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 111 was 110
York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 203 was 201
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust – 64 was 63
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) – 7 no change
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) – 7 no change
Total: 1,592 was 1,582 the day before
