ONE of Northumberland's top beauty spots is reminding people to follow the rules over the bank holiday weekend.

The relaxation of lockdown has led to many flocking to Kielder Water and Forest Park and camping overnight on the site.

It comes following the re-opening of car parks on May 20.

On a social media post, Kielder Water and Forest Park said: "We welcome day visitors, but it is clear the Government state overnight camping.

"Please do go home after your day visit and not put strain on our ranger teams and emergency services."

Kielder Water and Forest Park is home to the largest man-made lake in Northern Europe and is encouraging people, as much as possible, to stay local and exercise close to home.
