The popular Northumberland County Show’s children’s art competition will go ahead, thanks to one of the show’s youngest volunteers, Lauren Robson (17), daughter of show secretary Kerry Robson.
Lauren, a Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham, pupil has organised an online virtual art exhibition as part of her 'A' level arts award, owing to the show’s cancellation due to coronavirus.
Lauren said: “It seemed a shame not to run the competition when so many children and young people could still enjoy taking part from home. I have received some great entries already and I am delighted by the enthusiastic response.”
The theme of the competition is ‘Bees and Conservation’. Entries will be judged by local artist Alex Clark and should be emailed to accounts@northcountyshow.co.uk or @northcountyshow on Facebook by May 25.
