ARRANGEMENTS have been made to allow improvements to a Tynedale school to progress.
In Haltwhistle, a new base for primary school pupils will be developed as part of a £2.65m refurbishment of the former middle school buildings.
Northumberland County Council’s cabinet agreed on Tuesday to delegate authority to award the contracts for this project to the cabinet member for children’s services and the executive director of adult social care and children’s services.
Members of the cabinet also agreed the same for Bedlington St Benet Biscop Academy.
The council's deputy leader, Coun. Wayne Daley, cabinet member for children’s services at the council said: “It is important to progress with business as usual - and continue our improvements to education in the county.”
