A FAMILY-run Tyne Valley company has donated thousands of items of PPE to the NHS in the North East.
Thompsons of Prudhoe provided 7,100 coveralls, as well as 70 disposable masks and 20 ori-nasal half masks along with 150 filters, as well as 6,000 pairs of disposable gloves.
Mark Hill, business development manager at Thompsons, said: "Thompsons of Prudhoe are delighted and proud to have donated a significant volume of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the NHS across the region during these difficult and unprecedented times.
"We would like to say a huge thank you to all members of the NHS and other key workers who are working tirelessly to keep us all safe during this pandemic."
The equipment will go to all NHS trusts operating in the region.
Thompsons staff are continuing to work at some of the company's sites, with social distancing measures in place.
