Firefighters were called to a huge wildfire on moorland near to RAF Spadeadam, near Gilsland.
After days of warm and sunny weather, the fire on Saturday had taken hold in grass and gorse, and at its height covered an area of approximately 2,000 square metres.
Fire crews from Northumberland were joined by firefighters from the Carlisle East station and Brampton as they battled to control the blaze. They used beaters and hosereels to put out the blaze.
The crews were called out at around 4pm.
