AN ART project has helped to unite a small village as the country enters its forth week of lockdown.

The Slater family, from Mickley, has created a cloud wall, encouraging locals to spread positive messages and pieces of artwork whilst on their daily walks.

Chris, who is caretaker at Mickley First and Prudhoe Castle First schools, said: “When we started this, we simply wanted to give the community something to keep cheerful about. And a focus that got them out - not just for daily bit of exercise.

"We never dreamed that it would be such a hit with so many people.”

The family have decorated its fence with over 40 clouds, as the project proved popular with school children, who wanted to spread messages to friends.

And the family has also delivered clouds to Rose Tree Care Home for residents to customise.
