A FURTHER eight people have died in the Northumbria Healthcare Trust region after testing positive to coronavirus.
The news comes as Britain recorded 758 deaths from the virus on Tuesday - the highest number of deaths in one single day so far.
Figures from Public Health England on Tuesday, however, show there has been no further confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Northumberland from Monday, with the figure staying at 211.
Across the North-East, 2,133 cases have been confirmed and the number of UK cases has reached 55,242, with 6,159 deaths.
