POLICE dispersed a group of teenagers walking on the railway tracks in Prudhoe this weekend.

The three teenagers were asked to leave the area due to the current social distancing measures.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "At 6.15pm on April 4, police received a report of a concern for a group of teenagers walking along the railway tracks in Prudhoe.

"Officers attended and the three teenagers were given advice on the dangers of the train line and current public guidance around social distancing.

"The group dispersed without any issues."

Gatherings of more than two people who do not live at the same address have been banned to stop the spread of coronavirus.
