TESCO shoppers have helped the region’s air ambulance secure a £25,000 grant towards its overnight service.
The grant for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) will enable the training and equipping of a new doctor and paramedic to operate on its Critical Care 24/7 vehicles overnight.
The grant was awarded through the Tesco Bags of Help Initiative, which asked shoppers in North-East stores to choose one of three charities using its blue token scheme. After receiving the most tokens, GNAAS received the highest grant award.
