A PRUDHOE playpark that has suffered from vandalism and decay is set to get a new lease of life.
Under county council proposals, the park at Prudhoe Waterworld will receive some new equipment, including swings, while other play equipment will be cleaned and have worn parts replaced so children are able to play there once again.
In order to allow less-able children to join in play with others, a wheelchair accessible roundabout will be installed and basket swing will be added when the existing swing set is replaced.
The work will be carried out by Northumberland County Council, after which Prudhoe Town Council will take over the maintenance of the playpark.
The proposals were due to be discussed at Prudhoe Town Council’s meeting last Wednesday, but the issue was adjourned due to the coronavirus outbreak.
