A PATIENT treated at a Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust hospital has died of coronavirus.
The trust confirmed the news on Tuesday. The death brings the total number of patients who have died at Northumbria Healthcare hospitals to nine.
The trust did not confirm which hospital the patient was being treated at.
Dr Jeremy Rushmer, the trust’s executive medical director, said: “Our deepest sympathies are with the patients’ family and friends at this very sad and difficult time. We will not be commenting further and ask that everyone respects the families’ privacy.”
The trust has said that all patients had underlying health conditions and were between the ages of 65 and 91.
