A FURTHER four people in Northumberland died over the weekend after testing positive to coronavirus.
The Northumbria Healthcare Trust revealed that the total number of deaths in the county had doubled to eight, and said all patients had underlying health conditions and were between the ages of 65 and 91.
The trust also revealed that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Northumberland had almost tripled since Friday, rising from 23 to 61 by Sunday evening.
On Sunday, Public Health England confirmed 19,522 positive cases of coronavirus in the UK, with 1,228 deaths nationwide.
