NORTHUMBERLAND County Council has vowed to continue with its grass cutting services for as long as possible during the coronavirus outbreak.

The authority released a statement in response to rumours it had stopped cutting in public areas, insisting its teams would be out and about as normal.

The statement said: "As we enter the warmer months, we'll be continuing with our grass cutting to keep our county clean, green and safe.

"Remember - it's really important everyone sticks to the social distancing rules - so please keep away from our teams if you see them working - and we'll do likewise.

"The grass cutting will continue for as long as we're able to."
