CONFIRMED cases of coronavirus in Northumberland have risen to 23.
Public Health England confirmed the increase of four cases, up from 19 on Wednesday.
The exact locations in the county have not been revealed, but yesterday, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said an 83-year-old patient from Hexham had died at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington after testing positive for the virus.
The latest figures showed that 578 people across the country have now died from the illness.
