A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash near Otterburn on Sunday.
Volunteers from the Northumberland National Park and North of Tyne mountain rescue teams were called to Ridlees Cairn, Otterburn Ranges, on Sunday to help rescue an injured man.
The motorcyclist was initially assessed by the mountain rescue medic prior to the arrival of the North East Ambulance Service's community paramedic.
He was transferred to a crewed ambulance for onward transport to hospital. The incident involved six mountain rescue team members for a period of two and a half hours.
