SHOPPERS in Hexham turned out to welcome to a new clothing store to the town at the weekend.

Saturday was the launch day for Seasalt clothing, a Cornish clothing brand which has opened a new branch on Fore Street.

The store, which sells womenswear, accessories and footwear, is located in the premises formerly occupied by charity shop Scope.

Manager, Kayleigh Wink, said the staff experienced lots of support from customers on the shop’s opening day.

“The opening was fantastic,” she said. “We had such a lovely warm reception from the whole town and everybody said really nice things so hopefully we continue to get that support.”

Seasalt Cornwall, which has stores across the UK including a presence in Fenwick and John Lewis in Newcastle, has employed nine new staff in its Hexham store.
