A TEENAGER is flying the flag for his home town.
Resident Kyle McLaughlin (17) approached Prudhoe Town Council with design ideas for a flag to represent the town.
The teenager said: “Our town has a strong identity. The best idea, in my opinion, which has been adopted by many towns and cities countries across the world, is to adopt a flag to show our identity.
“Personally, I believe it would be a good step to providing a symbol for our town.”
The idea was well supported by councillors.
Coun. Chris Barrett said: “I think it’s a brilliant idea. We need some identity just for Prudhoe which still has the Northumberland colours in it, but is just for Prudhoe.”
Coun. Bryan Futers was less enthusiastic about the design.
Kyle replied that he wasn’t a professional designer, and his design was just a suggestion.
