A MIDDLE school has been forced to close due to a leaking pipe.
An underground water pipe at Corbridge Middle School had sprung a leak, leaving the school with no heating from Monday.
A letter to parents said the school would be closed on Tuesday while the pipe is replaced.
The letter, from headteacher Jane Kennedy, read: "I would like to thank all pupils and staff who have coped so cheerfully today in cold conditions.
"I do apologise for the inconvenience caused, but the welfare of your child is, as always, our most important priority."
The school is expected to reopen on Wednesday.
