TWO men have been given suspended jail sentences after being found guilty of affray.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday, Steven Jon Carter (35) and Robert Paul Carver (34), both of Throckley, were sentenced to 26 weeks in custody, suspended for 18 months, after being convicted of affray in Ponteland on July 20, 2018.
The defendants were ordered to pay compensation of £300, court costs of £900 and a victim surcharge of £115. Carter was ordered to pay an additional sum of £50 in compensation.
They were also excluded from the Blackbird pub, in Ponteland, for two years.
