THE fire service has praised a driver for his heroic actions during a bus crash on the A68 on Tuesday.
Police said the incident, which took place north of the Stagshaw Roundabout near Little Whittington, took place at around 10.30am.
It is believed that the bus crashed into a tree.
A spokeswoman for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service said: "If it wasn't for the quick thinking driver this could have been a lot worse.
"All the passengers are well and crew have praised the driver for his heroic actions."
