THE Met Office has warned that there could be travel disruption on Thursday morning due to snow.

It has issued a yellow weather warning for snow from 2am to 11am on Thursday, extending across the north of England and southern Scotland.

Many parts of Tynedale have already experienced snow showers this week, with heavier snow lying in the North Pennines and North Tyne.

People are being told to expect possible travel delays on roads on Thursday morning, which could mean some vehicles and passengers become stranded. There could also be delays or cancellations to rail and air travel and some rural communities could become cut off.

Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

It is then expected that Storm Dennis will bring rain from 12pm on Saturday until 9pm on Sunday.

And an additional yellow weather warning for wind is in place from 12pm on Sunday until 12pm on Monday.
